After over ten years of planning, on May 14, 2026, the Opening and Dedication Ceremony for the Howard County Veterans and Military Families Monument was held. 

This is a gift over ten years in the making. It is a symbol of honor, a place of pride and a solemn tribute to those we have lost protecting our country.

The monument is for the Veterans whose lives have been changed by service. It is for the military families who anxiously wait for a homecoming. It is for the Gold Star Families who will never be the same again, and it is for each person who enjoys the liberty awarded by these profound sacrifices.

We thank each and every person who has helped make this dream a reality. As we celebrate the completion of this project, we reflect on the deep meaning and impact of service, bravery and freedom.
